      Meet The Radiologist

Richard C. Holgate, M.D. (Medical Director)

Dr. Richard Holgate received his medical degree from the University of Toronto, served a Neurology Residency at the New Mount Sinai Hospital – Toronto, and Radiology training at the New Mount Sinai Hospital and Hospital for Sick Children – Toronto and Toronto General Hospital.  He has an advanced Neuroradiology / MRI Fellowship from Columbia - Presbyterian Medical Center, Neurological Institute – NY.  He has held radiology faculty positions at the University of Toronto and the Medical University of South Carolina.  He has served as  the Director of MRI and Neuroradiology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) – Charleston.  Dr. Holgate is a board certified Radiologist, fully trained in neuroradiology and is a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology.  Having authored fifty-five scientific publications and given over 100 scholarly addresses at regional, national, and international scientific meetings.  Dr. Holgate contributes a wealth of knowledge and experience in the supervision and interpretation of all diagnostic imaging.  As director of the first fixed, free standing, physician owned MRI center in South Carolina, Dr. Holgate works closely with his clinical staff, all of whom have extensive experience in healthcare and magnetic resonance imaging in outpatient facilities.  Dr. Holgate has served as President of the South Carolina Spine Society and is a member of the American Society of Spine Radiologists, the Southern Medical Association, the Radiological Society of North America, the Clinical Magnetic Resonance Society, and the Southeastern Society of Neuroradiology.
